Overview
The breast reconstruction patients at our New Jersey and Manhattan practice are usually breast cancer survivors who have undergone mastectomy or women born with congenital breast deformities. In either case, women seeking breast reconstruction come to the Institute for Advanced Reconstruction at the New Jersey Plastic Surgery Center for expert care to restore or create a natural figure to their bodies.
New Jersey women come to our practice for natural, artful breast reconstruction surgery to restore their feminine figures. The skilled plastic surgeons at the New Jersey Plastic Surgery Center employ several distinct breast reconstruction methods including: tissue expansion, pedicled TRAM flap, latissimus flap, free TRAM flap, and DIEP flap. The breast reconstruction surgeons at our New Jersey practice are able to produce beautiful, natural results for women with a variety of different body types by selecting the surgical method that is best for each woman's own particular needs and aesthetic preferences.

Consultation
After a woman receives a diagnosis of breast cancer there are many emotions and fears that go through her mind. At the Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey and Manhattan, the physicians and staff are sensitive to the needs of women dealing with breast cancer, and you will be treated with kindness and compassion. At the breast reconstruction consultation you will meet with one of our superbly trained plastic surgeons to discuss the appropriate method for restoring your breast.
The physicians and staff at the Plastic Surgery Center will take the time to answer all of the questions you may have and guide you through the breast reconstruction process. We often suggest you speak with one of our hundreds of satisfied patients that have gone through the breast reconstruction process and are now leading fulfilling, productive lives.
Procedure
When performing breast reconstruction at our New Jersey facility or at one of a number of New Jersey hospitals with which we are affiliated, our physicians employ a variety of methods to rebuild the breast mound and recreate the nipple. Often the breast reconstruction process requires a series of operations – therefore, for the convenience of our patients we are able to perform most of these procedures at our ambulatory surgical facility in New Jersey.
The breast can be reconstructed using tissue expansion, the pedicled TRAM flap, the latissimus flap, the free TRAM flap, or the DIEP flap method. During your breast reconstruction consultation at our New Jersey practice, our doctors will discuss these options with you to determine which method will be most appropriate based on your needs and goals. Please visit www.advancedreconstruction.com for more information about each of the breast reconstruction methods offered at the Plastic Surgery Center's Institute for Advanced Reconstruction.
